Now have the city take and show a video of the sprawl on Woodruff Road, the empty buildings on Poinsett Highway, the ugly powerlines/billboards on Wade Hampton Blvd, etc.

You mean the same things you can find in every sizable city across the United States? Powerlines are ugly in every city. Billboards can be unsightly as well, depending on their location. Sprawl is simply common in and around every growing North American city. While I do not like it one bit, there just isn't an equivalent city in the nation where I can avoid living near it.
I do find it interesting that you have consistently been one of the most vocal supporters of sprawling development and suburban growth in the Upstate, but now you seem confused about what you really believe - not that this is news to any of us who have known you for the past few years.

You obviously haven't been to Madison or Omaha then. Take a trip sometime. It might suprise you. We've already been sprawled to death. What's more going to hurt? We already have a ton of Walmarts. It can't hurt having another right?

G-man, if you prefer Madison and Omaha, nobody is holding you back from moving to either place. Let us know how much you enjoy the extremely cold Northern winters or massive tornadoes on the open plains. Don't be surprised when you find suburban sprawl, billboards, and powerlines there as well though.

Actually, I was planning on moving to Charlotte when I get the chance. You know the place with a light rail line, low-cost carriers, etc.

Still has more amenities and better transit options than here. What are the chances of Greenville County residents approving a 1 cent sales tax increase that would help fund better mass transit?

g-man430, I had a lot of respect for you; but now I don't know who you are? You were Greenville's biggest booster and now you sound like Jviello. Make up your mind buddy. This is flip-flopping at its best my friend. I can honestly say though that I'm here by choice. I love this place!

I am a Greenville booster. Notice nobody posted on the thread I made about 86% of people in the survey saying they were satisfied or extremely satisfied with Greenville's quality of life. You guys overlook the posts that are positive and only go after the posts that are negative. I just proved that: http://www.city-data.com/forum/green...d-quality.html Did I go negative on you guys because I hate Greenville or did I go negative for a different reason? Hmmm....
