Can anyone give me some feedback why Greenville made Sperling's list of Top ten drought-riskiest cities?

Drought-riskiest Cities

Scientists are warning that raging brush fires could become routine. Florida is running out of water to meet the needs of its growing population. New England water reserves are reaching record lows. Atlanta's main water supply may run dry in a few months. Boat ramps are becoming surrounded by dry land and streams are disappearing. Even the mighty Great Lakes are seeing historically low levels.

America's Drought-Riskiest Cities measures the drought severity for the 100 largest metro areas in the United States.

Top ten drought-riskiest cities

1. Los Angeles, CA
2. San Diego, CA
3. Oxnard, CA
4. Riverside, CA
5. Salt Lake City, UT
6. Nashville, TN
7. Chattanooga, TN
8. Birmingham, AL
9. Greenville, SC
10. Knoxville, TN

^^Because we're in a drought like the rest of the southeast. It's not as bad here as in Atlanta or Charlotte but the lake levels are low and some places have water restrictions in place.

Whoa...

We're at higher risk than metro Atlanta?
We're not even on the restrictions they are under there...

What's the basis for this rating...

You guys are going to go off some ranking like that? Go off NOAA instead. Atlanta and Charlotte are worse than Greenville. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

The reason we are better situated than Atlanta and Charlotte is due to population and planning. Greenville water comes from several lakes and it is for that reason that we have not been placed under any restrictions yet.

Atlanta wants to borrow water from us but their laws prevent that from happening.

And just yesterday a guy down my main road was burning his leaves. How dumb can people be?

All y'all have got to check out The Handlebar, a 13-year-old, award-winning concert hall that has presented 3 dozen Grammy Award winners, six Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame inductees, a Tony Award winner -- and has hosted big names like Joan Baez, Bela Fleck, John Hiatt, Tower of Power, John Mayer, David Sanborn, Jerry Jeff Walker, Pat Metheny, Nickel Creek, Ricky Skaggs, Janis Ian ... and huge rock bands, too: Collective Soul, Alterbridge, Shinedown, Hinder, Chevelle and many many more. Some 3,000 concerts so far, drawing more than 35,000 fans a year. And The Handlebar's been named in the Wall Street Journal, Michelin Guide and Southern Living. Not bad for a Greenville institution that isn't one of the big, popular national chain restaurants/bars in this town. And since it's not your typical Greenville meet market, it attracts everyone, ages 18 to 90 (Strom Thurmond shuffled in once. Kevin Costner and Dan Aykroyd have visited, too.). The Handlebar's live music is an even better good-time value than Greenville's most-favored form of entertainment: going out to eat. Check it out: The Handlebar - Home

I love the fact that you are surrounded by beautiful mountains, rivers and lakes. You have access to almost any outdoor activity imaginable within minutes of the city. It's the best of both worlds. You can experience four seasons, without the misery of long harsh winters. And it's affordable! The cost of housing, in particular, is incredible when you compare it to the rest of the country.

Default Construction in Greenville, SC

My husband and I are looking to relocate to the Greenville, SC area (Anderson?) from Florida. He's a interior trim carpenter though he can do pretty much everything. I am an Admin/Exec Assistat. Can anyone tell me what the construction/remodeling is doing in the area? Is there an area better than the other? We're so sick of Florida we're moving before finding jobs. I'm just hoping it's a little better than what it is in Florida. Thoughts on the Anderson are? Thanks
