I insured a 200k$ house for right around 300$ with 1000$ ded. I would guess you would be under the 400$ mark. |

You can tell the local pride in their community by their local posters. You can say something indicting about Louisiana and if you get a response it's usually, yea, I wish i could leave too. If you have only positive posters and people trying to move here, thats an indication things must be going right. I've seen several negative post in just looking around but not many. Speaking of proud posters: Caveat for Dallas posters who may looking at my history of posts. I do not mean any offense about Dallas on the above comment and realize there are many multimillion dollar projects to increase the green space and beauty of Dallas. Thanks for your reply. That is unbelievable, we purchased our home 13years ago and our homeowners then was $300, with a $500 ded, and now it is gone up $5000 with a $2000 ded, and flood ins of $300. This is one reason for the mass exodus out of Fla., the middle class income cannot support this, and there are many worst cases. I appreciate your input. |

I know the same questions have been asked. I am from michigan and wanting to move south. I have looked all over on the internet for nice areas. Greenville looked the nicest to me. I want to live in a town that has shopping nice restaurants. But that also has good schools for my daughter.

Greenville definitely meets your criteria and has many added benefits to offer most people learn about later after their move. Let us know how we can help.

I have lived in Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Texas (DFW) and now here and this is by far the best place I have ever lived. It is very family-friendly here and the people, even the transplants like me, are extremely friendly. My husband calls it the best-kept secret.

I did ask the question of why it seems that more people choose spartanburg over greenville, as far as places to live. I have not recieved any replies. Could you tell me what the differences are between both towns, or do they pretty much offer the same thing.

Hi sherri rc,
I replied to your question in the thread you created. I am not sure where you heard this, but it is definitely not true, since Greenville is larger and has been growing faster than Spartanburg for decades. If you have an opportunity to compare the two cities side-by-side, you'll see why Greenville has been so successful for so long. ![]() |

For those interested in experiencing one of Greenville's festivals along with a Southern flair, I recommend participating in Southern Exposure, 3 days of fine food, wine & music during September 14, 15, & 16. Check out the photos from last year's event on the website to catch a glimpse of the fun. The annual Art in the Park festival will also be happening on the same weekend, as well as the opening for the 2007-2008 season of the South Carolina Children's Theatre, so be sure to check those out as well.
