Thanks for the heads up on Hogg's Greenhouse. I'll definitely try that out. Support local business!

Boss Hogg will have tomato plants for sale around 3 ft hight with tomatoes on them along with the standard 4" ones. He also has beautiful ferns and other outdoor plants. Be sure and ask him for a copy of his super duper tomato plant fertilizer recipe.

You all should try growing from seeds, because someday there may not be very many grown plant options available and the prices may not be affordable.

Proud to call Simpsonville home.

Great comment ruvidu. I've moved to Simpsonville 5 years ago after living all over this great country and overseas. It's a great place to live.

BTW, plasticman, Everybody knows the Simpson's live in Springfield!!

Strange, although there isn't a lot there, I could have sworn I've driven through downtown S'ville many times.

At any rate, I guess I don't understand why anyone should have to justify where they choose to live to you or anyone else.

Ruvidu - where is Elegant Gourmet? We're always looking for non-chain great food! And the closer the better (trying out different babysitters and it's nice to be close by just in case).

@Rapunzil...I thought the same thing at first...then as I saw people going back and forth it started to be funny to me since we don't really differentiate here at our house...ah well.

Elegant Gourmet is just across the street from First Baptist on College. White house with wrap around porch. Try the ham sandwich with thin slices of Granny Smith apples. Geno is the chef and his wife Lisa will probably greet you.

We actually spent the day driving around Simpsonville and we think we may very well make it our new home.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Heritage Park!! What a beautiful park and it even has an Amphitheater.

I've never seen a nicer layout at the little league fields. We really enjoyed just walking around.

And it was SUCH a pretty day!

We did visit TR the other day ... nice and rural, but it seems it would be hard to make a living. When you own a small business you do need to go where the people are.

Thanks for all the great information on the area!

I did mention Heritage Park earlier in the thread:
