I changed mulch colors this year so I removed a bunch of the previous years mulch to make room for the new stuff. Not thinking it was a big deal I put it in bags and put it out by the curb.

The city garbage truck didn't take it and neither did the truck that takes debris and brush. Their website says they don't accept mulch, and most certainly not in bags(apparently you can get fined for this, not really sure why??)

Bottom line is this, I have a bunch of black bags of mulch in my front yard, how do I get rid of them?? thanks for any help

Oh and P.S. I'm a student, so i'm looking for a FRUGAL way to take care of the problem ))))) and nothing illegal obviously, lol

I believe uou can take it to the county conveniance center on Hipps Road in Simpsonville but will have to empty it out of the bags into the hoppers. No plastic in the organic material.
