Default Autumn visit to Greenville

It looks like we will be visitng Greenville this fall! I can hardly wait. We will only be in Greenville for a few days, on our way up to Virginia. Does anyone know when the Fall for Greenville Festival is this year? I thought I read somewhere it's the 20th and 21st of October. We will be there on the 20th. What is the festival like? Is it worth going to? We really would like to explore the area as much as possible in the few day we have there.

Also, how about the fall leaves? I know it's different every year, but is the second half of October fairly typical for the peak color?

The Fall festival is Oct 12,13,14. I just booked our airline tickets for the trip!. I saw some Skyliner pics - the leaves looked quite green. I am going to guess that Peak doesn't happen until end of October.
Check out Mast General Store website -- I recall they had some foilage reports from last year.

Fall for Greenville is typically just ahead of peak foliage, yes. Last year's was no exception. Peak foliage came near the end of October for the SC/NC border mountains last year.

I love Fall for Greenville! I definitely think it would be a good time to visit the area. The music is usually pretty good, but the food vendors are by far the best part!
