It seems that what's really lacking here is a really good, inexpensive breakfast place. Anyone know of one? Thanks

Waffle House. The one on the eastbound side of Wade Hampton before you get to Home Depot is excellent.

Nothing in Greer that I know of, either, besides Waffle House. They were decent most of the time. My wife and I always traveled to IHOP or Mimi's for a good breakfast.

I don't go to restaurants that allow smoking, especially square boxes like that store, where the smoke just sits there; I'll go to the new one in G'ville, because it's non smoking, but the ones in Greer allow smoking. Thanks though.

Hmmm...where is this specifically? Across from the library is the post office, and the only other things that I can think of on that road are little business offices. Is the place non smoking? Thanks

Backhome Cafe, I believe, is on Pennsylvania Ave. It's actually between Main Street and the library at a stop sign on the left. It looks really, really old, but I'm guessing it's down home cooking and pretty darn good.

I've also heard that Southern Thymes Cafe on Trade Street has wonderful breakfasts. I enjoyed lunch there one day and have been meaning to go back for breakfast.

I can't say if either place is non-smoking, though. I think the only guarantee of a non-smoking establishment is if you go to downtown Greenville.

FYI, there's a Denny's on Wade Hampton, but I can't tell you what town it's in. Could be Taylors. Could be Greenville. Not Greer.

Thanks, photogal, I checked and back home is non smoking. I may check them out. Denny's is almost down into Greenville.

I used to enjoy lunch at Louise's New Dixie Cafe, which was the predecessor of Southern Thymes Cafe. Louise was the best hostess/cook/waitress/friend you could ever hope to have in a small town diner. I miss her greatly.
