Does anyone have a reference guide in which to read up on all of the candidates, I'm so lost. Thanks

From the site SCVotes.org | South Carolina's Voter Information Resource , you can get a list of candidates for your county that approximates the ballot from the page at 2010 Primary Candidates by County | SCVotes.org. Then you can get details on each candidate from Political 2010 Homepage - News Radio WORD (Candidates block in the lower middle of the page).

The simplest yet most comprehensive pre-election guide I saw was the five page spread that ran Sunday in the Spartanburg Herald-Journal. It gave the basic info on every candidate in a contested statewide primary as well as their top three platform planks. It looks like you can get all of the info that ran on the Herald-Journal website:
Elections: Elections News and Photos | GoUpstate.com
Scroll down to where it says "Candidates for SC treasurer" and so on and click on each race to see the candidate info.

A vote for anybody is a vote for higher taxes.

When they get into office, they'll want to raise taxes. It doesn't matter who wins. Politicians are out to steal our money.

Then that's why your vote is more important than ever. We need to vote people in you have the courage to stand up and stop this gov't spending express!

It may be akin to looking for a needle in the haystack theory, to find one who will actually do the will of the people, but there are some candidates out there who are like that.

And spend it on things like transportation and education! I dislike paying taxes as much as anyone, but do you think that all the progress in Greenville happened through acts of thievery.
