I work in health care Barb and I wish my patients family members were as sensible and grounded as you are. I had a patient on a ventilator that was 100 being tortured to live because her nut case daughter wanted her to live to 105. You wouldn't believe the nonsense and uncalled for cruelty I've seen because some selfish family member couldn't let go and do the right thing for their loved one. Stay strong Barb, you will be OK.

I wonder what happened. She's posting relatively positive posts in other forums. I got caught up in her sorrows. Did her mother pass?

No, she has not passed yet. I am trying to be as positive as I can in my life. I beleive life is for the living, and while I am sorrowful that my Mom is passing, I need to do things for myself, such as posting on city data, walking my dogs, getting a new library boook, etc. I spent 3 hours with her today. She is lingering, up and down, and its very very hard being there with her, so I try to limit my time. The caregiver is there constantly and called me to come today, so I rushed over. But there was no real change, except her breathing is more laborious.

Smart choices, Barb. I know from past experience that even though you're doing other things, your mom is never far from your thoughts. Best of luck for a peaceful passing when the time comes.

Thank you all for your very very kind and warm wishes.
Mom passed peacefully last night. I am thankful she is now with the Lord and my father. She was really something. Bless you all for being there for me.

Barb, I am sending my condolences as well. Let me know if you have any questions as you make the arrangements, since I just went through it myself.
