It is a horrible situation and you are not weird for feeling sorry for this mom. As parents we never think we will lose our kids.

Even if her kids were rotten people losing your kids is never easy. Not everyone can move out of the situation they are in and some don't have the knowledge it takes to just make simple changes even with people telling them what they need to do. Sad!

No KrazeeKrewe, It takes a village to raise children. What rock do you live under where you've never heard that expression? Don't get out much, huh?

So just up and moving her family when her support is there in Chicago might not have made sense at the time and perhaps she couldn't afford it.

My advice to you: Get out more.

Now that Chicago allows citizens to CCW & shoot criminals for theft, destruction of property & threatening life, crime & murder will fall.
...and we are not necessarily showing sympathy for the children, we are showing sympathy for the MOTHER who had to bury all 4 of her children. Regardless of their behavior, no mother should have to bury their child.

The real question here is why are you so bitter and hateful?

After the second child was killed, being able to "afford" to move is no longer the question.

A Greyhound ticket ANYWHERE and showing up at the local shelter would be safer than staying where she was.

When the first child was killed, If I couldn't move, I would have moved heaven and earth to be on top of the rest of my kids, and in their face about gang violence, and keeping them off the streets.

Yes- because we know how safe local shelters are.

Agreed. At the very least, if moving is not an option (which I'm assuming it's not or they would have been gone!!) I would at least want to know their whereabouts 24/7. At the end of the day, these children were grown. There's only so much a parent can do.

Really?

4 of her kids were murdered and you're going to say a shelter is more dangerous?
