I start three nights of work in a row tonight - hope everyone has a good day today. Health insurance is a big problem in this country. Hard to get good health insurance that covers you completely that is affordable and available.

Just got the word----I lost 3 more work days due to lack of business because of the new PetsMart. So now I work 1 day a week--can't make it on that so I am looking into jobs online. Not something I wanted to do. I'd finally gotten a job working the perfect hours and days....sigh...things happen for a reason so who knows....

Actually I felt since I had only a few days I worked and have been there a year now I was pretty safe but I guess no one was since everyone lost hours. I am going to check out Petsmart today. My boss said if and when business picks back up we will get out hours back....but I don't have the time to wait. I am very sad about this all. I finally got my hours and days right where I needed them and although I didn't make a lot of money it was enough to skim by and I enjoyed the environment. Please keep positive thoughts for me regarding a new job!!

I went and looked at Petsmart and it was empty...no one offered any type of assistance--just depressing. It is more like a warehouse type pet store. The grooming shop was empty. I didn't put in an application as of yet since I did talk to my boss and he said things could change in a week and I could get some hours back--but meantime.....

It's like that in so many places now. Other than groceries, people don't seem to be shopping--at least not in stores. Between the mostly stagnant economy and online sales, stores have been letting people go, decreasing hours, or closing. Small privately owned businesses have been especially hard hit.
