Yes Sandy..although we don't have a lot of posters here now, the people who do post are wonderful and caring. Many of us have known each other here at city data for years! We have a lot of readers who don't post and honestly that is what it is all about, helping each other through difficult times even if they do not care to post! Thank you for your lovely post and as elston said "welcome".

I just accidentally unsubscribed from this thread so I have to post something to get subscribed again.

There that should do it. LOL

Just saying hello! I've been on this forum for awhile, but have never been to this particular sub-forum before. So many others tend to be cynical and combative, but this looks caring and loving (a nice change of pace!) I'm so glad this one exists.

There is something about the loss of a loved one that makes people understand the bigger parts of life and have compassion. Although this thread might wander and the primary posters on it need to help others keep it on topic, it is an example of humanity at its best.

Thank you for the compliments Harry. This is a special place visited by sensitive and caring people......we tend to be very gentle with one another.

We may wander and go off topic at times.....but everyone is welcome and altho a post may seem totally off topic.. .sometimes communications are not direct Sometimes some of us may not fully understand the premise of the thread......Life after Loss. It may be grief work....but it might be much more practical.....how to change a fuse....I never had to do that before. Expressions of lonliness are common themes.

Thank you for stopping in Harry.

What a wonderful way to wake up this morning----so many nice things posted! This thread does cover so many aspects of grief recovery and as elsten pointed out that may include posts that do not seem to stay on the topic but for those who have gone through a big loss it makes sense! Our minds seem to be re-wired after our loss and we struggle just to keep our lives on topic! The support and caring on this thread is so helpful. Thank you one and all!
Please have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Everyone. Each new day is an adventure.....an opportunity.....filled with challeges perhaps but also filled with tangible supports and allies.

Not a day goes by without a challenge--I honestly could use a day off but guess it is life. Today I noticed my well water was an "off" color. Like a very weak tea. It seems to have started after we lost power last week to the weather. I opened the outside faucet to flush out the water and it did seem to help. I vaguely remembered my dear husband before he passed away telling me to do this if the power went out and anyone flushed the toilet. Well my girlfriend staying with me did flush the toilet so maybe this will correct the problem.
I start work on this Monday and am so scared. Not of work just being away from home again plus my girlfriend leaves very early Tuesday morning. I feel like I am at square one again although I know once I get my routine down again things will be fine....deep breath!
