I know elston. You have the same heart I have with our babies! Anyhow RIP Rat kitty! The vet said he was in kidney failure. I feel horrible cause I couldn't even bring him home since I can't bury him myself! But he is out of pain now!

I am truly sorry for you.....kitty is in good hands and out of all suffering. Cyn you dont need to feel horrible.....you were such a good friend to kitty....and there was no way you could be out digging a grave in the rain or snow to bury him. Let it be, you couldnt have done any more or done it any better.

Cyn, I am so sorry to hear about Rat Kitty. There really aren't any good words of consolation, but please know that my thoughts are with you and you absolutely made the right decision to release him from his pain and suffering.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. I miss my boy so much. My little "Gray" is walking around crying--she misses him too! Each of my fur babies plays a big role in my life. Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

Animals do know. When our Hannah died....Cricket looked so lost and sad as she looked for her. That surprised me because they pretty much ignored one another the year they were together after we merged our families and our lives. We adopted our McKenzie to help Cricket....and Cricket went with us to the shelter to help pick out the new dog.....we wanted to make sure that neither one would have "issues". After the initial "sniff and look me over rituals" they settled into a pattern of ignoring each other; with Cricket maintaining her unspoken preeminence in the home.

I agree elston--animals know so much more then they are given credit for. They feel quite deeply!
Still working on getting my mind off Rat kitty.....work today so maybe that will help. My fur-baby family is shrinking. I knew this was going to happen since we are all seniors living here! Doesn't make it any easier!

Not easier cyn.....but please dont think of adding anymore.....even a healthy young one. Animals are expensive and you have been really over extended caring for all the furry family members.

I have already decided this is my last fur baby family. I will love others and enjoy them but no more for me...to painful! The joy they bring is wonderful but better for a younger family!
