I just wanted to report that one of my brothers wants to pay 1/2 of my expenses for the cremation. I told him it wasn't necessary but he insisted. His way of saying I love you to my son.

I love my family.

So sorry for your lost, and please allow your brother to express his love and concern you and your son in his own way. Best of luck to you.

I will. He was so close to my son when he was younger; it will give him closure.

Smile So sorry to hear

Our children deal with themselves in different ways. As it was said in the recent movie Creed, the one you see in the mirror is really the one you have to fight.

And, as children, they are so sweet often. What sometimes happens, I don't know. Unkind words by someone else? Something at school? A relationship they can't talk about?

Praying your son is truly at peace.

Bette, for my son, the therapists said it probably started when his stepmother' s younger cousin molested and raped him when he was in his young teens. I did not find this out until many years later.

Then, the clincher was when he was in college & working at a group home for autistic boys & his favorite, who he'd made a lot of progress with, was on a home visit & suddenly died, for no apparent reason.

My son fell apart. He quit college, took up bouncing in a bar and finally just disappeared for awhile.

When he surfaced he tried to kill himself, which is when he was sent to a psych ward where it was determined he was bi-polar. There are usually stressors that put people over the edge. He had two huge ones.

I am sorry for your loss. It sounds as if your son had a very difficult journey through his life.

What an interesting and lovely idea.

I am sorry for your loss and I understand. May God keep you in his love.

My beautiful, profoundly retarded daughter died when she was 4 1/2 years old. She suffered terribly in her young life but we always felt blessed to have known her. That being said, it was a relief knowing that she would no longer be in pain, ill and suffering. She is with the angels.

It's been a tough week. My son's ex-wife keeps calling me when she's drunk. Tonight it was that my ex, my son's father, cancelled the appointment with my granddaughter to give her some of my son's ashes.

My son's ex won't give me my granddaughter' s address but just rants about my ex. I am so tired of this and don' t know how to handle it.
