My wife died a few months back and all went smooth.
UPDATE

Just got a letter with the date and time for the yearly memorial service. I had other family members on the mailing list and they got their letter also. 5pm on a Saturday in April. At a major church but non denominational. Reception to meet staff and students to follow. A few of us will be going and later to dinner and toasting her. She would have liked that part......LOL

My wife and I have a plot in western Texas next to my in-laws. Although I will place a small tombstone at the plot, I plan to have my body cremated as inexpensively as I can then have my ashes thrown into the west Texas wind on a day it is blowing west to east. It will be the first time I will be able to travel across my native Texas and not have to worry about the price of gasoline or a seat belt.

I just have to hope my ashes settle to the ground before they reach Louisiana.

I only know that I want my body to be donated to science (If I'm lucky enough maybe it'll end up plastinated or something).

Yes I have planned my Furneral, selected the Casket and Funeral home, Service at my church, then transport to The National Cemetary of West Virginia. Planned all the music, including a chachy tune for the final Burial. I also have some plans out of the ordinary for what I want in the Casket with me, and removing the seals on the casket, Don't want my body to turn into smelly stew or coffin to explode.

That is what I have requested. I don't like to be the center of attention.
