I've put off getting my son's death certificate. Just wasn't ready. But, my sister called me and her friend wasn't willing to work on my son's and my motorcycle until it could be sold. We were co-owners because I had to co-sign the loan and that was the only way I would do that.

I'm thankful I did that now as I ended up paying for the loan because of his disabilities after the fire.

Going to the coroner's office to get the certificate was tough. Then I had to go to motor vehicles and get the form for me to be able to remove his name from the title.

Wow, that was tough! In my mind I know he's gone but it seemed so final, I almost lost it. But the woman that waited on me was so kind, she made it easy for me. So I didn't break down. I was close though.

So now all that remains is selling the motorcycle & having the memorial, which will be in June sometime, whatever we can coordinate so most, if not all, my family can be there.

Tough day.

Thanks to both of you. I don't mean to be a burden but family and friends cringe when I break down. Wish they wouldn't do that.

When a court clerk can be sympathetic & your family doesn't want to deal with the tears - well, I appreciate the people I dealt with today. I have one more thing to do & that's getting a current license plate for the bike. I should have thought of that while I was there. I hope I get the same woman I had business with today.

Just an update, I didn't get the same person but the woman that did help me was so sympathetic, even apologizing for my having to pay for the plates and tabs. What could have been a very bad experience, those two women turned it into a supportive, mother to mother, experience. I was/am very grateful at how they handled the whole situation.

Thanks Zeurich. The thing I have to really work on now is the grief & depression. I am giving it over to our Lord & I know He will help.
I try to be strong but sometimes get overcome & just have to cry. I think it's cleansing though. I will always miss my baby boy, but I do believe he is in a better place.

As a pastor there are stock answers but to be honest time, faith and the love of friends and family are the factors that genuinely help us heal.
Also ny schooling and time with God and His people, both believers and nonbelievers, has taught me that life here is temporary but the life and love we have aand share are permanent. I believe wholeheartedly that your boy is still here and still loves you as you do him.
Bless you in this tough time and please feel free to contact me any time.
