I just want to thank you all for the kind words and notes. It's been a rough day.

My 10-year-old daughter said to me," I know you love Simon because you're crying, and you never cry."

Thank all of you again.

Pedro, our sympathies to you and yours.
We lost our Walter July 25, 2016 and we still have not adjusted completely to our new normal.

Best wishes.

I'm so sorry---I know how difficult this is. I am happy he was able to pass away in your home, surrounded by the love of his family.

My deepest sympathies to you, Pedro. I am tearing up now because we are on a vigil as well for our almost 16 year old Tortie kitty named Gucci. She is the one our youngest son was closest to. She would help "tuck him in" at bed time when he was little and stay on the bed until he fell asleep, then she would leave the room.

Three years ago we lost 2 of our pets, an 18 year old Russian blue kitty named Sasha and Tigger, our 15 year old dog. That was a rough year and it never gets easier. I know it may not seem like it right now, Pedro, but your heart will heal some and you will most likely find yourself thinking about sharing your love again. After awhile we adopted another 2 dogs and a cat. They are as much a part of the family as the others. And we realize, eventually we will have to say goodbye again. But we are willing to keep putting our heart out there for the joy and love we receive in return.

My heart goes out to you!

I still miss Twostep so much! One day SO told me that a house without a cat is not a house and that she will be OK with a furry taking care of her people.

It is so hard to lose a loved pet. <HUG> Know that you gave your cat all you could in life, and that was returned 10 fold. Be as kind to yourself as you were to your beloved friend.

I'm sorry he had to leave you. But cats often seem to accept their fate, more than the people in their lives do. When my dear cat passed on, under circumstances just as you describe, he was loving up to the end, purring as I held him in my lap. Then I decided not to have another cat. But this is not for us to choose. When a new cat comes along, and asks to become a part of your family, you won't be able to refuse.
