Keeping a vigil on our family cat, Simon. I have some Chopin playing and a lightly scented candle burning.
He's been asleep most of the morning, and I just hope he passes quietly in his sleep.
I don't see him making it through the day. It's also the second anniversary of my father's passing.
You just get so emotionally attached to them as they become such a part of your family.

Totally understandable, Pedro, it's the flip side of the joy and love they bring to enrich your life.
He may be sleeping, but he's aware of your presence and your love for him, and it comforts him as he passes from this life.
And whenever that passing may be, may you find solace in the memories of your life with him, and knowing that you gave him a good life, loved him and he loved you back.
Peace to you.

He knows you are there.
You shared good times and bad times. To some a cat is a pet. To others a member of the family. He will never be replaced but one day you may be ready to share some of your life with another one.
Thinking of you.

I've been there and I understand. Having lost many pets over the years, I find comfort in knowing that I provided a good life to a living creature.....in a world where so live miserable lives.

I'm so sorry to hear about Simon. I love my cat just as much (and even more) than my human relatives.

So sorry to hear this sad news. I have had relatives whose death did not affect me as much as losing my little Zachary (Shih Tzu).
RIP Simon
