I've been widowed myself, and I totally believe in the wisdom of "waiting a year". HOWEVER, I agree with Harry...in this instance, something needs to be done sooner rather than later, due to your Mom's difficult financial situation.

First of all, no guilt! It sounds like you behaved very well. Consider yourself lucky that she wants to move.

Does she not have either friends there, or adult relatives her own age who can come visit? Either would both help her, and relieve your burden a bit.
