Nothing. I am aware of the day, and may comment on it to someone close, but nothing else. Private thoughts seem best to me.

I live within a 5 minute ride to the beautiful cemetery overlooking the bay where both my parents and husband were laid to rest. I do not visit there or do anything special for birthdays, holidays, etc., but make a visit when I am finding I am missing them more than usual.

Go have a meal at the Restaurant which I feel currently serves the best Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans---it was a tradition when we were all living, and the best Restaurant ever was still in business.

That sounds like a really nice place. I love oceans and bays.

Is there something different about this year? It has been more difficult for me.

I smile, remember, send love and celebrate them in my heart. Now I have a new one to commemorate for birthdays, anniversaries and other significant events. Bitter sweet!

Nothing. Birthdays had become card-only event in my family while my parents, etc. were alive.
