Thanks, I appreciate it. In the ghetto, you don't know who knows who, so the irony is that the killers who killed my parents were found dead a week later (shotgun blasts to head and chest, same way my parents were killed). Cherish your parents while they're still living because one day, they'll leave this earth. My parents knew God, so they're waiting on me in Heaven.

I was 25 when my dad died of an accidental drug overdose with prescription meds. He was upset about some work related stuff and had decided to get loaded by taking a bunch of pain pills and benzos before washing them down with a bottle of wine. He was only 48 years old. My mom is now 74 and in perfect health. I expect to be in at least my 60's when she passes.

I miss my dad every day. He was a good guy that got a raw deal on his health......Gout, rheumatoid arthritis, type 1 diabetes, sever stomach issues, etc

I don't think he would have done well with what his life was about to turn into........wheelchair.

I'm sorry jrt. My dad died when he was on the heart valve replacement waiting list. He looked terrible the last couple of months he was alive. He had to use oxygen to walk to the bathroom. That's not a life.

My Mom was 75 when she died and I was 41. Dad died 12 years later at 82 and I was 53. Only child, so I have missed them dearly every day.

I was 43 when my Dad died at 80 but we were estranged (parents were divorced). I was 57 when my Mom died at 77 (4 years ago). I was there when she died unexpectedly (heart?) and it was traumatic. I think about her every day still and miss her more than I ever thought I would. It's weird to not have parents anymore and it's like my childhood and history is gone too in some ways.
