I was 49 when my mother died and 4 years later my father died. I miss them both every day but consider myself very fortunate I had them in my life at long as I did especially since both were living when my husband died at age 49 in 2001 and two years later I was diagnosed with cancer. Honestly I don't know how I would have made it through these difficult experiences without their love and support.

RIP mom & dad.

I was 37 when my mother died of rheumatoid arthritis, and 45 when my dad died of a heart attack.

Both were sudden. My mother was supposed to live 6 months and by the third day being in the hospital she went down so quickly she asked to be put on hospice so she could die at home. Two days later she was gone.

I was 3 when Dad died from having an accident at Grumman. I never really knew him, he was in SE Asia before that.
Mom is still alive, we are very close. It's going to be hard when she passes.
