Ah geeze, I ended up driving in the dark twice yesterday, Gerania! It was after dark when I left the dealership. So instead of going my back roads, I just got on the main drag, got into the middle lane and drove until I hit my exit. After taking the exit, I saw two individual black cars with no lights on driving down the street! This street is not very well lit either. I thought to myself "you're an accident waiting to happen." At least that street has some street lights, the neighborhood side streets have NONE. I don't go out of the lanai after dark. I am not ashamed to admit I am scared of what might (has) been out there.
Jury duty....now that I know what to expect, I would not mind being called again. Only next time I would bring my cane with me. The parking garage was three blocks away from the courthouse and I had a difficult time. That was a first for me. It wasn't even the leg I would have suspected would give me trouble. I guess I have damaged it by putting all the pressure on it favoring the other leg.
When we were dismissed from court, the lady I was sitting next to looked at me and said "Good, I have too much education for this baloney. "!!!!! Whaaaat the f...? Most of the time it really takes a lot to shock me but this woman sure did! We have plenty of elitists in here, tyvm, but I have never heard one in person before! I'm sure glad I don't know her.
So today is a do nothing day....that I know of yet. If I do go out, it will be just to a drive-thru so I don't have to get out of the car. Hee-hee, talk about laaaazy!!! I can stay in my jammies that way!
HAGD everyone.

Not much. The people I live with and the extended family do Christmas on Christmas Eve. Exchange gifts anyway. I forget what they do for chows. I will tolerate it as long as I can and then come home and watch my tv.

Yeah, that's about how exciting my Christmas will be too, but I don't live with anyone, much less someone I don't like. Living alone can have its perks I guess....can be lonely sometimes though. I've been toying with the idea of going to a nearby casino for Christmas dinner. They put out a nice buffet and there's lots of old fogies like me who show up at Christmas.

Good morning everyone. Happy Hump Day.
That sounds like a good way to spend Christmas, jan. I found out that going to a casino by yourself is an okay thing. I went with a group from my old private club and I never saw one of them until I got back on the bus to go home. I had a blast. I even learned the drinks were free! I had not known that. The closest casino around here is a couple of hours away though. I don't like the rinky dink one that's 30 minutes away. The Hard Rock is up in Tampa but that's about 3 hours away.
Yes, living alone can get so lonely. Even though I moan and groan about these people, I really shouldn't be so harsh. It's just I don't have much in common with them and my friend is about as smart as a box of rocks, I can not have an intelligent conversation with her and her bf, he is very smart but all he wants to talk about is how much he hates Trump and his Muslim religion. I don't want to discuss either. It's just hard living with others. I bet they have issues with me too. I am not the easiest person to live with.
I need to get my rear in gear and go to the store. Tomorrow the forecast is for terrible weather. Basically a tropical storm with a high chance of tornadoes. Highest chance in over a decade the weatherman said! Possible 90mph winds, 5" of rain. That's the forecast. I hope they are wrong this time.
I have been trying to keep thoughts of my husband at bay during the season. He died a month from today. I think it's just because it is such a happy time of year I have to try extra hard not to get bummed out.
I still haven't put out any money for Our Time, the dating service. I have a few "gentlemen " interested in my pic I put up but I am being cheap for a while longer. Something changed my attitude for a while. What, IDK, but I just go with my flow. Guess I am not that unhappy or lonely, huh?
HAGD everyone.

Niece (37) getting married for the first time this weekend. I will be walking her Mother down the aisle.
It will pretty much be an adult event. No snot nose kids. Should be fun. Several events before the wedding. Looking forward to party time. Hoping there might be some 35 to 55 year old, single woman there. One can hope....LOL

Hi, john! Good to see you. Awww, a first time marriage! How nice. Even more nice, no ankle biters! That sounds like a really nice party. There might be a very high possibility that a lady 35-55 might be there. Good luck! I have heard many couples have met that way. Enjoy.

This is absolutely the best post that I've read on C-D this week. I read this, that, and the other, but many posts are dry. Everyone has an opinion. I do and you do.
My husband, two Masters degrees, was offended when he was dismissed from jury duty. He'd always wanted to serve.

My goodness, it's been so wet here today. We have had 7.1" of rain so far. What a t+l storm this morning! I just rolled over and went back to sleep. No breaks between bolts! We have been on tornado watch all day. It's supposed to expire at 4 p.m.
Late this morning I got tired of watching Bob Harrigan, a meteorologist on ABC7 here, say North Port only had gotten 2.3" of rain, so I emailed him and told him our rain gauge said 6.2". Next time he came on it was changed to 6.2"! Lol, he got my email and corrected it. I felt proud of myself.

I do not avoid nor do I have any trouble driving in the dark but my schedule rarely calls for such. One reason is I like to have two, sometimes three stiff drinks between 5pm and 7pm, just before dinner. With drunk driving laws being so tough, the only way I can do this is at home so generally I am home by 5pm to slip into a drink. Next few nights will be an exception as earlier mentioned, my nieces wedding. Rehearsal dinner 6pm tomorrow, wedding at 5pm on Saturday so I must be sure to drink lightly. Both within 15 minutes of my home so that makes it somewhat easier.
Had to try on a few suits, jackets, dress shirts, etc. to be sure I had something that fit. Got nice outfits to wear to both events but also as a result, several pairs of dress/suit pants going to the tailor to be let out............LOL
