I know it doesn't feel like a Happy New Year to many of you. For many, grief is still a constant companion. We would rather have the one(s) we lost as companions. But I do wish for all of you some hope in the dawn of a brighter year ahead. Grief is, I know, something that sort of comes in waves. You are doing pretty well, then it hits you. But you will do well again. I know. That is me, too.

So my New Year's wish for all those who are grieving is that the "pretty well" days become more frequent this year, and the grieving times become less frequent. And that when a grieving time does come along, we all remember that it will abate. Keep that hope alive. Support each other. I also wish you everyone that some of the "pretty well" days become days that are actually happy, satisfying, peaceful, and even great! It can happen. It can happen to you.

So here's to Hope in the New Year. Blessings to all.

G Grasshopper
