Another halter bit the dust. She managed to tear off a cheek piece from the neoprene lined one. I looked over every square inch of the area she was in and couldn't find it. I patched together the old nylon one, and have another on order. This is getting expensive! **beginning to wonder about chain mail...**

Nylon, pure nylon. The current one is twice as heavy and lined with neoprene and has stainless steel rings. The one she destroyed was all nylon, and she tore the ring under he chin right off, so it tore through 3 straps. It's too hot to sit outside with anything, it's in the mid-90s now and will just get hotter as the day goes on. I won't try riding until I get her used to being groomed, she's still full of bits of dried mud, even though it's been weeks since we had any rain or mud for her to roll in. I don't want to put a saddle on her until her back, at least, is nice and clean. I doubt if it will be too much longer, she's come such a long way since I got her.

HAHAHA Are you using leather or nylon? Leather breaks which is great for safty ...nylon doent unless you get one with a breakaway piece of leather in it.
My girls use to do that!! I just ended up letting them drag a lounge line while I sat out side with a book & radio and watched them. They stayed fairly close & call brought them back! I am so glad she adjusted to you & things are going good. When are you goint to try riding her?
