Using the Right so it won't be taken away.
Don't like it too bad.
To the OP, .22's are sure cheap enough and I use mine to defend the garden. I just set up a scope I hadn't used in a long time and made it a little tack driver. Rifle of course.
Then I have been shooting the black powder a rather long time to the point of collecting dust on my center fires. When it's just one ball down range you tend to make em count. I have 4 flinters i trust as well as anything else, but like I said I have been at it a very long time.
Sometimes you can get a decent deal on a cap lock single shot, which can be fairly low cost to run. last Spring one a TC Hawken was given to me never fired once. Still ain't been fired since.
The 22 came into play since I could scope it and thar's a garden varmint and I may have to combine the scope with a hand held flash light in very dark of night. I don't know whats in the garden, but i want it gone.
That just might take more than 1 little .22 round.
My wife is gonna be upset to find out she is a White American Male. Why just last night I told her she was great at being female.
I guess this will cause a problem since she doesn't know she is a male and neither did I til now. She has her very own SAR-1 Ak-47 clone and a bunch of 30 rnd mags for it, She had a 8mm mauser a while too. Wants all my .45's too. I just tell her how's it feel to want.
That's true of course, but the *point* of the .45-.22 conversion is to shoot using the exact same grip, trigger, etc. These have a "floating chamber" to give greater (more realistic) recoil as well.
I don't think there is a clear winner between buying the Ruger or the conversion kit - just depends on your preference.
And if you will read about the Ruger 22/45 you will understand that the 22/45 was built to mimick the 1911 style pistol, you can even buy the exact same grips that fit on a 1911 and put them on the 22/45....hence the name 22/45....
And...If properly installed the crimson trace grips will fit and work. The front wraparound presents no problem as bushings properly placed for a wraparound will allow a sets of slabs to be used in perfect alignment. The grip angle (leading edge) of the 1911 is exactly the same as that of the 22/45 - 108 degrees.
The whole point of this pistol was to give the same feel as a 1911 so people with 1911's could shoot a lot more with the 22/45 and go to the 1911 and still have the same grip....

Maybe she should patrol your garden? I'm sure,
with that Mauser, she could take care of whatever
is in there.
