It is a nice looking gun, but let's face it, you don't really need it. That being said, go for it! Taurus makes good pistols IMO. I have an older model PT99 9mm that I like a great deal.

Oh...come on...you don't need a lot of things....but you get them....
I'm not sure of a .45, I have a 9mm and a .40, should I add another caliber?
I think it's a beautiful pistol....
Taurus builds POS guns that will not be worth anything when it comes to resale. Apparently you do not go in much for quality firearms and like to repeat mistakes.

Don't get mad or be offeded, afterall, you asked!
Not mad...and what mistakes have I mad? You are making VERY broad assumptions with little knowledge....
But, please tell me what guns I have bought that are not quality?
I wouldn't buy a Taurus, personally. Some people have good luck with them, but a lot don't. In fact, if I already had a .40, I probably wouldn't add a .45 either. Just one more thing to feed. Maybe you're not as cheap as me.

I am cheap...that's the whole reason I'm asking....and I don't want to feed anything else...BUT......

I'd buy more magazines and ammo then use those to practice more with what I already have. Then again, I'm very cheap and rarely in any kind of rush to add calibers that don't offer a substantial advantage over what I'm currently using.
I agree with those that suggest staying away from Taurus.

I have not been a pistol guy...but I have to admit, I'm surprised at the responses about Taurus...even the few posts here...

Not sure why...just surprised...
If all I were going to use it for were range work and I didn't mind dealing with occasional broken parts, FTF's, or FTE's a Taurus would be ok. It's a decent lower middle price range pistol.
That said, the last time I bought a handgun for strictly range work was back in the late 70's when I was competing in PPC. Every handgun since has been intended to be carried defensively. I'm pretty particular about the level of quality I'm willing to accept in a defensive pistol and the Taurus just isn't up to my standards.
Not trying to come across as a gun snob but if my projected use for a firearm involves shooting back at someone that is shooting at me both the brand and the individual weapon have to be well vetted. There's no sound louder than the click of an FTF on your end while the other guy's pistol is working.
