Plenty of fine shootin' 1911's in the 500-600 dollar range. Especially if you pickup a quality used 1911 then you can get some real value. I sold a rifle to help with the purchase of my TRP. Here's hoping sooner rather than later for you.
That's about what I'm planning on spending, only problem is I have other things on my want list, like a Sig 522
(1) Springfield Armory Professional full-size. The FBI HRT and SWAT model, bone stock in Government contract issue form. (1) Springfield Armory MIL-SPEC "Defender" bone stock full-size. (1) Wilson CQB custom full-size. Delete front cocking serrations, BULLET PROOF upgrade package and upgraded double diamond checkered Cocobolo grips. Tritium Combat Pyramid sights with square notch. All three are in .45 ACP.
Yes I am very aware of the FBI SWAT service pistol. Just about the best 1911 value money can buy. Yes I am aware of the more expensive custom 1911's but none shoot better based on everything I've read. The Professional pretty much rings out about 99% of all the performance you can expect out of a 1911. Everything else is window dressing and ego. The last time I shot a Professional it was side by side with my TRP. Honestly after 100 rounds there was little difference between the performance of the two.
Minus all the MIM parts and custom fitting of course!
Oh puuuullease!!!! with the MIM parts. you elitist. LOL
Yes the higher end 1911's do hold there values well.
