I was waiting for him to say "Hippy Boy" at the end of that segment.

The NRA colluded in an attempt to infringe our rights in Wyoming. Thankfully our legislature defeated the bill. But the NRA collusion caused a majority to vote for it on the first reading.

The NRA and Obama are wrong; there are no reasonable restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. Remember that the NRA sponsored the Instant Check. I don't support any check.

NRA pushing gun control in Wyoming?

Wyoming Gun Owners is the real thing. Every Wyoming resident who owns a gun should be a member. But you don't need to live here to join.

people who like to support the NRA might be a bit suprised about the amount of gun control legislation that they have supported in the past.
the NRA is not a friend to firearms owners. support an organization such as the GOA or the JPFO for real firearm rights supporters.

Well, then - have the GOA step up to the plate and hire him. The NRA has!

It wasn't really my intention to start up a political discussion. Just a reminder that we have to vote and hopefully gun owners will choose that candidate who does not have a history of signing gun control legislation or promoting gun legislation.

NRA is the biggest rottweiler nipping at the heels of most gun control legislation. Unfortunately they've been known to sell out for treats. I am a life member of the NRA but it is not the only pro-2A organization to which I belong or support. I think it is very important to belong to your state pro-2A organizations and support youth shooting development as well. We are only preserving the rights for our next generation.

I disagree. The NRA just isnt exclusively a lobby group like the rest are. But its certainly our friend. The problem is that the NRA was not formed for lobbying purposes & in many ways being uncompromising can compromise their real mission or reason for existance. Which is to promote shooting sports thru training & administering matches, things like that. If they dont work WITH states to a reasonable degree how long will it take those state to just stop recognizing NRA course certificates? How long before they stop allowing the NRA to administer & organize matches etc?

I let my membership lapse for a couple years because I felt like you. Then I realized the pronlem isnt really the NRA, its that many members dont know what the NRA really is. They ask it to do things its just not in the right position to do & the NRA tries its best but its tough. So I re-upped as a life member but dont look to them for pro gun lobbying. Honestly I wish they would just get out of it & give ILA funds to worthy lobby groups to help the cause. That would give them a reasonable degree of separation but allow their weight to still be used in lobbying but in more effective arenas.
