I'm looking into one of those nifty looking ScottWerx conversions of your basic 10/22 into a Thompson MG look-alike.

Anyone done this? There's also another company out there doing the same conversion apparently. The name of that company is Desmidt Armory.

I'd love to know what experiences anyone's had.

This would look great with a shorter 16.5"bbl and a full Cutts type compensator (a slotted muzzle brake...)

It's the one on the lower left... the Ruger conversion should be available as a screw-on cosmetic alteration accessory! (BTW, don't these original Thompsons look downright TOUGH? Imagine someone swinging one of these in your general lawless direction?)

And.. this look-alike "version" is a LOT LESS EXPENSIVE to shoot than a .45ACP unit!

Yeah, I suspect any of us that likes gun's wouldn't mind owning one of these. But, it's kind of expensive for a conversation piece, and that is about all one would be good for after the new wears off. I have a 22 lr that looks like an MP5 and it is an attention getter at the range, but really not much good for anything. I do like Ruger 10-22's, I have five and all are a little different, also have two Chargers.
