These were the older models......the deep, rich-blue ones that always got my blood flowing.

Tomorrow is when my gun comes in. I cannot wait to shoot it. I shoot my 238 out to 25 yards, controlled pairs at 8" and 10" steel targets. I hope the 938 is equally easy to shoot.

Shooting freehand: 25 yards is not an issue for me for any of my guns. 50 yards is not an issue for a many of my guns. 75 yards and more is only achievable with a few of mine.
Way I figger it, if they're beyond 30 yards, ah've got time ta git to a bigger gun....

I used to think 100 yards was only a pipe dream with a handgun - until I met an old USMC Top that schooled me on the .45 one summer. I'm likely way too rusty to even attempt it any longer, but he had me bustin' beer & soda cans at 100 yards consistantly.

The initial rounds are all gonna be FMJ. Once I get another 3-400 down the tube, the next 100 or so will be HP's.

Tex

Thanks. I have a lot of 9mm for breaking it in. I'm going to try +P for self defense.

I let my 9mm stock get low....got 'bout 1k rounds, but they're all loaded in my Uzi's mags, so I'm reluctant to unload 'em. Got a gun show in a coupla weeks, so I'll grab another 500 rounds an' then set up the Dillon an' run a bunch out.

I love gun shows. They're what I use to replenish, also.

TNR, have you ever shot a Beretta Cheetah or the Browning BDA? Same gun. It's a 380 that's a fairly small weapon but with the double stack clip, holds 13 rounds. Not that you'll throw yer Mustangs away or yer Sigs but it sure makes a fine carry weapon. The advantage is the obvious clip capacity over the Sig. Sure makes it hard to walk over one.....or at least painful. Considering I've not had a 238 in my hands I can't tell you the size difference but it can't be much. My hand pretty much swallows the Cheetah and from yer pics, looks to be close in size.

That is all.

Trapper, I've actually owned several - but the double-stack mag makes it as wide as my 1911's - almost impossible ta tuck into a pocket easily. An' iffen ah'm gonna carry one with a grip that wide, ah'm gonna tote mah .45!

To each their own....the P238 has a safety - so it's easy to carry cocked and locked. Some folks aren't comfortable carrying that way. I have no issues cocking it when it's in my hand - but I handle guns routinely, so perhaps it's a matter of experience.
As to the cost....a Kia's a cheaper car, but Mama ain't tradin' in her MKS for one - an' I ain't gonna get rid of a quality gun for a cheaper one. An' most of the others you reference are larger that the P238 or P938 - so the comparison isn't really valid. And the Glock 26? Really? It's larger than my STI Elektra - which carries 7 230-grain rounds of .45!

The P938 is nice. Heavier, thicker and longer than a 238 but feels good as a pocket carry. The front strap is textured as is the back. The G10 panels are textured also. Night sights are like Meprolights with the plastic coating. Trigger is about the same feel, but this gun needs oil. No trigger creep. Slide is stiff, right now. Only one six round magazine with no backup magazines even available. It would only serve as a backup or a primary carry with a New York reload. Love it so far. Hope it's not like a DiamondCrap DB9.
