Even in the Old West lots of establishments made you check your guns at the door before entering.
Or more than likely they don't care about the 2nd amendment either way and they are catering to patrons who are more comfortable visiting gun-free establishments.

I like guns. I don't own any but I've never really trusted someone who has shot a gun and didn't enjoy it.

That being said I don't think I'd feel comfortable mixing alcohol and sports in a place where people can carry guns. Do you really NEED to carry a weapon to dinner?

It's not a question of "need" - it's a fact of being able to exercise my constitutional rights to be able to defend myself. Because if stuff DOES hit the fan, what're ya gonna do - complain that they can't rob you because you're at dinner?

This cracks me up! I've eaten dinner at least 18,000 times in my life and I've never once needed to defend myself.

I can understand this position, but I would like to state that most people don't have the opportunity to pick when fate decides to dump a pile of poop on their head.

Anyways... You keep doing your thing, I'll keep doing mine. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of business is it that you run? Because I can see someone (who isn't necessarily anti-gun) not wanting firearms in their business if they run an eating establishment or other place where alcohol may be dispensed, or a business where things may become rowdy (entertainment venue, dance hall, etc.)

So that answers my first question, it is paranoia.

Let just say that I am in the business of resolving conflicts, best done without firearms.

I could have put my firearm in my car safe, but I was prepared to leave and just voice my complaints at the entrance. So I went to girl up front and said "We would like to eat here but I have a problem - you have a sign on the front preventing legal gun carriers to eat here". I was prepared to talk to her manager. She seemed confused and said she never even seen the sign before and told me don't worry about it and it was OK.

So we ate and enjoyed our dinner, with my XD behind my right hip. Still it irks me. Apparantly, from what I had read this morning it is a corporate policy. I may stay away on principle in the future (the resteraunt personally exempting me or not), and I would advise everyone to do the same.
Ummmmmmmmmmm, it's an establishment where they serve alcohol. Do you really think it's a smart idea to bring a gun into a place like that? Use common sense, man.

In an open carry state you can carry into bars. We're never had any conflicts. We have had conflicts at party's at homes, should we stop carry there?

Wyoming is a different breed from Washington. However, I won't be carrying into an establishment where there is alcohol being served, as well as children being all around me. I don't see any point in legally carrying into a place like that. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
