My father bought a 1897 a few months ago and his is a 1907 make as well, only a 100 or so produced before mine. Mine has the eject buttons on the receiver where his does not. Winchester made the 1897 up to 1957.

Dad had a 1897 that he loaned to a friend back in 1977 and it was stolen. I had always had my eye on that shotgun being mine when dad passed. Looks like I might just have one more in a few years as dad has one again.

I also have a Parker Brothers double barrel 12 gauge and a Rossi double barrel 410 with exposed hammers.
What a difference a couple months make.
I am cleaning the HK M3 and the Rossi to take to the gun show to try and sell.
I would have sold the Parker Bros. shotgun years ago but it needs restoration.

I own 4 shotguns...maybe 5 if you look at it right.

1 Benelli M3 12 gauge with pistol grip stock and ghost ring sights.

1 Remington 1187 Premier 12 gauge with 28" vent rib barrel and all the chokes.

1 Mossberg 590 Military/Police 12 gauge with bayonet lug and ghost ring sights.

1 H&R single shot 12 gauge with 28" barrel. I think modified choke, but I'm not sure. This one is not removable. Maybe a Improved choke. It was my first when I was about 10 years old. I haven't looked at it or shot it in years. It's a keep sake more less.

1 S&W Governor .410/.45 LC/.45 ACP revolver with factory night sights and moon clips.

I had 4 but sold two sold my two 870s. Miss them. Kept my moss 500 I put a 18 and 1/16 inch bbl on it with heat shield and pistol grip on, and my Smith and Wesson 3000 shot police riot gun. It was a police turn in. I may get another Remington 870 one day.

Ithaca 37 Featherlight for hunting and clays. I have one each in a 12, 16 and 20 gauge and all date back into the late 60's and early 70's. They're a great pump shotgun for left or right handed shooters.

You probably know this...but Parkers are highly collectible, so any restoration should be carefully considered and carried out by someone who knows Parkers. It may be more profitable to sell it "as is" - depending on how bad things really are.

I'm not a huge shotgun person, I have one and shoot it once in a while for fun. I don't hunt or shoot clays or anything like that. I really like the AR platform so at the moment I have a Mossburg 500 set up with a full length rail, and an AR stock. Now I did just order a MKA 1919 which is a magazine fed semi auto that is pretty much exactly like an AR. I'm looking forward to getting that.

I have several shotguns myself but the ones I lust after are the european bespoke guns from makers like Purdey, Perazzi, and H&H. I think the SxS doubles are the most visually appealing. However, they cost as much as my house so I will have to admire them from afar.

I have an inexpensive old .410 and a Boito 12-gauge over/under but I prefer my 12-gauge pump Winchester 1200 (Winchoke system). The .410s is fun but ammo is getting expensive.

Yes. This poor old Parker is in poor shape. Sigh.
My brother in law stole it back in 1982 and fired modern 12 guage shells thru it. I now have some cracking in the stock and one busted hammer. I do have a hammer replaced on it but it is not a Parker. Lucky he did not split the barrels. I have one other Parker in Fine shape. I see where they are selling near $30K now. They were never a matched pair.

Dad has a 20ga bolt action w/tapered barrel full choke that I grew up with and reloaded my own #6 shot loads. Had a 12ga Mossburg 500 pump with poli-choke (that sucked), had better luck bird hunting with the 20ga than I did with the 12ga mossburg.

I like the pump action for fast action and reliability regardless of the load. A friend of mine has a Rem 1100 and it is quirky when not shooting premium loads.
