A. semi-auto handgun
B. semi-auto rifle
C. semi-auto shotgun
I ask this for an analysis and how much the Federal Govt will have to reimburse owners if there is a buy out program. So far it ranges from 65 billion to over 90 billion depending on averages.
It doesn't matter. Semi-autos aren't going anywhere. Especially handguns - they're not banning every non-revolver handgun...
Besides, guns, whether semi-auto, SA, bolt action or whatever, aren't the reason tragedies happen. Criminals and mentally unstable people are. If you were somehow able to magically make all the guns in the world disappear overnight, these people would turn to something else - most likely bombs, which are far less discriminating than bullets when it comes to the damage they can cause.
Well, I'm trying to make my point. If the Govt has to come up with 105 billion dollars for a gun by back program where will it come from? Do people really think others would volunteer an expensive weapon without compensation?
My first thought was to respond on the negatively side, but decided to answer honestly
Your average semi-auto can easily run anywhere from $500 - $1600 without much of a problem. I have bought semi-auto on the lower end towards the $500 dollar mark. And I have several that are over $1200 dollar mark, and one on the way to the $2000 dollar mark.
Hear in Virginia a single Benelli M4 shotgun can run right at $1700. And used for $1400.
A new Springfield Armory, Colt, or base line Kimber with no real bells and whistles on it can run $800.
And those prices would be for each weapon. If the average gun owner had just 1 semi-auto pistol, and 1 good shotgun, you could easily be above $2000 per gun owner.
I truly hope they don’t start buying guns back, but that is better than the alternative of having them just taken away without any compensation.

Ok, now we are starting to roll here. If 150 million guns fall into the category of what Obama's crack team of analysts want to round up they better have a monster bank roll. Otherwise, a lot of guns just got "stolen". Going over the fiscal cliff and shell out 105 billion for a buy back? Ha
Also, most guns aren't registered so how do you round up what can't be tracked?
Let's just say that ya best up the ante if ya want the ones in my safes.....there's one in there alone that's over $3k - an' it ain't the most expensive one.
