AB 1213 Assembly Bill - INTRODUCED

Can't trap, or sell and it appears won't even be able to hunt it if you can't "possess" it. Listen, I don't hunt em anymore because you have to be in cold climes to get good pelts but we are trying to establish wild Turkeys here in S Cal and these things are exterminating them (plus anything else they can catch) at an alarming rate. Last summer in one night I counted about 2 dozen Toms within earshot of camp. Fish and Game sells tags up to 5 at a time. They know how thick they are.

These do not need protected status, that's for sure.

Referring to Tom turkeys, right? Could not possibly be bobcats, since tom bobcats are very territorial and would not tolerate even a single other male on their turf without a fight, let alone multiple male cats within ear, eye, or scent range.

There was plenty of fighting. In this area they are pretty concentrated because of the fires that left the areas barren. They have appeared to tolerate each other pretty well. The hunters I know of took at least 5 toms out of the area though the area is sizeable just not the cover. All the cover that is left is in the Canyon bottoms and fingers.

Literally laying in the tent hearing cats going at it at 10-2-6 o clock.

In Co we'd be lucky to trap one cat every few miles and then it may not be a Tom.
