I have caught deer bare handed, raccoon, skunks, rattlesnakes. I just thought I was being stupid.

Decent shooting, but it's not what I'd consider hunting (I don't consider baiting hunting either) and I'll bet it's a PITA to go over half a mile to get your kill before something else tries to muscle in on it.

It was a great shot. Maybe the record on a hunt....I'm not sure though. 1,011 yards is a expert marksman.

It makes a joke out of the guy who unloads his Remington 870 on a deer 25 yards away.

Still doesn't make it hunting, no it's not a record, I've seen hunt vids that use BMG, Chey-Tac and 338LM's go further. Same deal it's not hunting, it's shooting.

It doesn't make a joke of some guy who unloads his 870 at 25 yards on a deer, it can take just as much skill to get to within 25 yards of a skittish deer as it does to make that shot. Different skills, but still of the same level. Now if the guy is sitting in a hide to get within 25 yards of a deer, then that doesn't take too much skill except a skill for sitting quietly and not falling asleep.
