There are several brands of good polymer mags on the market these days: Magpul P-Mag, Lancer Advanced Warfighter Mag, Troy Battlemag, etc. Also the standard aluminum mags and a few flavors of steel mags.
Do the polymer mags seem to be taking over or do some folks still prefer the metal variety?
I have both types (plastic/metal), and the metal ones tend to have more problems fitting my rifle properly. They may have a better record on longevity/abuse, but for the casual shooter that's not really a big deal. I prefer polymer.
I like the old aluminum mags with aluminum followers. They seem to work best. But the new anti tilt ones work well also and I also like the Pmags. But I like mags. Big mags and small mags are all good.

I would get all the mags you want now....think we're about to have another round of "gun grabbing". I'm sure Obummer and Billery would love to restrict your right to own said mags.
