I've seen plenty of completely un-knowledgable people at gun shows, and normally, the prices are all marked up 10-50% over what they'd sell for in the guy's actual brick and mortar shop, in the hopes of finding a fool, and to let him be "bargained with". They have to pay for the trip to the show, a motel bill (usually 2 nights) and for the table space, etc. So bargain prices aint happening.
In 1978, I walking into a (discount, mostly mail order) gun and reloading supplies, and spent the equivalent of 10k in today's money. My entire student loan for the semester and my pay check, too. I've never done that since, but I've come close a few times.
