House bill would grant universal concealed carry reciprocity in all 50 states

It would be great to see this happen. I've never contacted a senator or legislator office before but this might be where I start.

I wonder if that means I can get a CCW for, say, Arizona, and carry in my home state of California, where it's much harder to get a permit.

The problem is too many damn states allow any nitwit to get a concealed carry license. No training required. No training of the self defense law so you get people brandishing their gun and starting fights. The police don't object to people get concealed carry licenses and the guns they just wish the damn states would make the training in not only the safety and firearm markmanship but also in the legal self defense law a requirement in all states. It would make things a lot easier for the police in dealing when someone claims they acted in self defense.

Then you got states like Florida-duh which gives concealed carry licenses to gang members and convicted murderers, and child rapists. So these people in other states were sending applications by mail to Florida-duh to get concealed carry licenses despite not living in Florida and having the state Florida grant them until several states got very angry at Florida for this.

Your post is way out. Concealed weapons permit applicants in Florida require fingerprints and an FBI background check. If a person has a clean record and happens to be a gang member, then yes it is possible for them to get a permit BUT a convicted murderer, child rapist or convicted gang member, that is never going to happen, where the heck are you getting your twisted facts.

Nope verbiage states (page 2 line 19) "in any State, other than the State of residence of the person that:-". However, it may mean that if you have two residences, that you could carry in one state of residence with your permit from the other state of residence.

Was reading it to make sure that it did not do something silly like trying to require permits for states that have constitutional carry (i.e. Vermont, Alaska, Arizona, Wyoming).

Although while it's light on detail, I'd think that if it's actually passed (yup good luck with that one), it might be tightened up quite a bit, and my concern is a requirement for a national permitting system being stealth inserted into this.
