If you aren't planning on killing government agents the the government having a kill switch to your gun shouldn't be a problem!

Yeah I do not trust the government with this power, they will abuse it, god forbid criminals can shut down the firearms of law enforcement/citizens.

Ahh, a new twist on the old "if you're not doing anything wrong, you don't have anything to worry about" defense.

One of the favorite methods the tyrannical try to use to justify imposing tyranny.

This is a good idea HOWEVER... the technology has to be firmly in control of the gun owner, shouldn't be mandated, etc.

Suppose you were in your home, not a very practical place for the smart guns if you need to be wearing something. Most people would just end up storing the bracelet next to the gun. Having a sytem in place that allowed the gun to operate within a certain distance but could also be turned on and off is more practical. If you think or know the weapon has obtained by someone you can just kill it, if they leave the premises it's also no longer operable.

What needs to be addressed here is the government mandates, they need to be removed so options like this can become available to those that want to purchase them.

Good point, anything can be hacked and since this technologies relies on radio frequencies it's not going to be that hard to jam it.

Fedgov will eventually mandate this technology for all weapons......and have the ability to
shut-down all weapons with this technology.

Just like the coming OBD3 for vehicles......Pi@@ies will have the capability to shut-down your vehicle.
