I've been looking at existing Android phone shot timing apps. They look neat, but they all depend on a beep as a signal.

Well, howdy, I'm at a range with muffs on and folks shooting on both sides of me.

I'd like to see an app that flashed the LED. I could put the phone on the bench and be able to see the flash in my peripheral vision.

If you wear muffs, then a pair of cheap wired ear buds (run under the muffs) with a microphone will solve your problem. They are as cheap as $10 everywhere from Dollar General to Walmart.

I can't think of a good fix if you wear ear plugs.

My question is about sensitivity at ranges. If you adjust it to count your 9mm shots, what happens if someone opens up with a .44Mag in the next stall?

That seems to be a real problem with all such apps.

Cell phones are fragile where recoil and impacts (shock) are concerned. This is the same shot timer I/we use. It is very very durable and does exactly what it is supposed to do. It also has a very loud audible beep that can be heard with 29 db full fledged shooting muffs on. Don't worry, you will hear it just fine, so will everyone else around you. For the money, we have found nothing superior or better suited. IPSC, NRA, Gunsite Academy,Thunder Ranch and Larry Vickers Tactical love this one as well.
