Great minds... I've got a large elk steak ready to cook up later today. Hope you are enjoying a wonderful Thanksgiving. It always tastes better when you personally harvest it.

I went in to town yesterday and bought grocery's and it was the first time in years that I purchased meat. I've been living off of elk, deer and antelope for years. Due too health reasons, i wasn't able to fill any tags this year, but then again, this tear isn't over yet. Last year I was. putting up elk on Christmas eve. Cut up another one in March. But, I was running low and living 21 miles from town, I like too keep at least 6-8 weeks of meat in the freezer, so I bike down and bought some beef, chicken, and pork.

Hoping to get out and do some muzzleloader hunting this weekend or next week. I get the entire month of December for muzzie season.

Got two roosters today. They were being wiley- wild roosters getting up 40+ yards from the point. Hard hunting! Had to switch to 3" #4 shot to get them.

32 geese this weekend. Had 3 of us on Saturday and 6 today. Saturday was a bluebird day, no wind, warm and only 8 geese were taken from 7:15am-12:30pm.

Today it got windy, cold and grey spitting sleet- perfect goose hunting. We had lots of geese drop on the 6 of us, managed to bag a fair number. Getting late in the season and they are wising up to decoys...

Very few ducks flying around. Needs to get colder...

The big bird on top is a Quill Lake Goose. A genetic mutant bred around that area, usually large white band across chest, white webbing and white on the throat.
