I'm also sure this will end up in the courts, if for no other reason than the whole "due process of law" part. Imagine if they'd passed a law that says the state will take your car if someone calls in and says they think that you're a drunk driving risk.

They're already going down that path. CA has 'UBCs', magazine limits, feature bans, etc and the highest grade from the Brady Campaign of any state (http://www.bradycampaign.org/sites/d...ads-points.pdf). Yet they're in the worse half of states when it comes to homicide rates (http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/murd...ally-and-state).

So what's the answer when the existing laws in their gun controlled utopia fail to prevent a headline grabbing spree? More laws of course, we have to do something!

[Mod cut]

We, the citizens of California, are comparatively helpless in this struggle. We are looking to you the "non-citizens of California", to help us look after/ensure our Constitutional rights. We/I sought your help before. We/I did not receive it; instead you all apparently chose to play the game commonly called "Ain't It Awful?" (Citation to follow). As a direct result our/my rights were considerably infringed/abridged and yours were endangered.

Here is a sermon based on the game called "Ain't It Awful?" As you read it, consider its application to the state-by-state Gun Control issue:

Just what can nonresidents do. for California Laws? It has to be done in the voting booth and we can't go in there.

My friend, I've been "doing my homework", so I now know a lot more about your personal experiences. We're not all that different -- you and I -- though you probably have been thinking otherwise.

California has always been the "test-bed" and trend-setter for the rest of the nation. It is all-too-easy for non-California residents to play the old "Ain't It Awful?" game that my posted sermon describes.

Here's the deal. Rather than playing "Ain't It Awful?" about California politics, (thereby abso-dang-lutely GUARANTEEING that the same will eventually land on your individual states' doorsteps), Second-Amendment-Supporters in all fifty states should be listening to and reading what's coming out of California.

Sure you can *****-and-moan-and-complain about it. Sure you can play "Ain't It Awful?" and come away from the threads feeling good about yourselves.

But you know what? Talk, and "ain't it awful" conversations are danged cheap! The cold, hard reality is that NONE OF THEM actually accomplish even one danged thing.

You want to actually ACCOMPLISH something, rather than talk-talk-talk? Fine. (1) Figure out how (and to whom) your comments should be addressed. (2) Figure out how to word your statements so that they GET their attention rather than REPELLING their attention.

Then, and ONLY THEN, can non-Californians safely play the "Ain't It Awful?" game that you've been playing on these Boards. Otherwise you're only engaging in mental mastu***tion.

Regards,

-- Nighteyes (a CALIFORNIA-based Second-Amendment supporter)

I support the second, as much, if not more than most. As far as discussing it on City Dara, that will continue. If you don't like the discussion, don't read it.

Most Californians do not support the 2nd, if they did, these laws wouldn't be getting passed. When I lived there, I was involved at least monthly in membership drives for membership in the NRA, dinners, membership drives for the South Bay Rod and Gun. Something going on every month. What are others doing?

Same thing with MA, CT, etc.

I have no desire to help those that don't help themselves, they put those people in office, if they don't like the results they can remove them. Colorado would be a prime example of what the people can do when legislation is enacted that they don't want.

That is exactly why Wyoming is s free. We care about who we put in office. We don't always get 100% put of our elected officials, but we darn sure vote them out the first chance we get.

Braggart.

Your entire State also has the population of Fresno, ca.

Lot easier to move the populace toward tossing the jackasses out when needed.

Yeah, I know I'm making excuses. But else do I got.

What's the problem with turning in a psychotic nut who owns guns and seems like a threat?? Those are the idiots who go on shooting rampages in public!
