I haven't been shooting much lately and I've got a considerable amount of 22LR, so thought I'd make some extra Christmas cash and sell some.
How much should I charge for 6000 rounds of CCI mini mag RN in factory sealed 100 round packs? I'll even throw in the Plano ammo boxes I have been keeping them in.
Depends on the market in your area, and how much trouble you're willing to go through. Do you want to unload them all in one transaction? Or are you willing to run around town a lot selling a box or two at a time to maximize your return?

I'd like to unload the whole lot at once in one transaction. As for the market, it's been a long time since I've seen any 22LR on shelves around here. Last time I did was last spring and the shop wanted $4 for a box of 50 Remington Thunderbolts.

If you're not in too big a hurry, you could try asking $0.15/rd. That's about what it's going for online, if any of the stuff I see listed is selling. At ten cents, it'll probably go pretty fast. But again, it depends on the local market. Check backpage and see what people are offering, then undercut them just a little.
Around here, 22lr sells for $18. for a brick of 500 rounds.
Is that a regular "I can go to the store right now and buy multiple boxes at that price" or is it "on occasion a store might have it at that price and you are limited to one box"?
I ask because that is about 1/3 of the current normal price around the country.

OP, where were you about a year and a half ago when people were at the ammo counters at 5am, buying a brick at Wal-Mart for $20, and selling it for $80, $100, and even $120? Little late to the game there buddy. You missed the boat, or as I heard one shop owner say "an opportunity of a lifetime".....
regardless of my feelings about some re-sellers in this item; i would have to think about the OP's question as a buyer not a seller since i know what i'd pay a regular store for the same ammo when it is on the shelf/online. And no i cant walk into a store and buy 6000 rounds, nor have i needed to.
Seems from what i've seen, mini mags tend to go for around .08 per round in the 100ct boxes. In theory that means 6000 rounds = $480 + tax & shipping.
So something in the $550-600 range for it all would be tops I as a buyer would consider as that would include previous tax paid, a couple plastic cans, etc.
Could someone pay more? Quite possibly. But as there is also a growing # of those who are frustrated with how the market went, keeping the asking price in a reasonable retail range (no loss, but no outrageous markup) would be what i'd do if I had extra ammo to sell.
Unfortunately for your position, the Republican victories last week will make the "black market" price for .22LR plummet. The paranoia of "Obummer's commin' fer mah gunz!!" is waning.
For a real answer, go to Gunbroker dot com and search for 22LR ammo for sale. Don't just look at the asking prices, look at the prices for ammo that is actually selling. Looking only at "normal" ammo on the first page the minimum bids range from $0.09/rd to $0.20/rd, BUT exactly none of them have any bids. Zero. Zilch. Nada. The gougers will have to use that ammo to hunt rabbits to eat because they spent all their food money on overpriced stock.
That web site is open to every hoarder in the country, and none of them are bidding.
The only ammo with bids on the first page is CCI Subsonic, and the highest bid is $0.10/rd.
That said, maybe your local area is different. Maybe you have lots of locals who don't like to buy ammo online using credit cards and prefer untraceable cash transactions. Your best bet would be to advertise in local trading magazines, in newspapers, or on Facebook gun/ammo/accessory trading pages. You *may* be able to get $0.15/rd if someone is truly desperate, but I highly doubt it. Something in the range of $0.10/rd or less is more likely.
