We have all seen the amateur gun reviews and demonstrations on U TUBE but are there any reviewers who are really worth paying attention to?
I know Hickok 45 is an amateur but he does offer some excellent videos, even though he works the slide on semis and opens the revolvers and spins the barrel way too many times. I have yet to see him not like every single gun he shoots.

So are there any others besides the guys who have been shooting for two years and now want to make movies who can give good reviews without pushing their favorite brand?

I just find it hard to take anybody serious who comes on and says they are new to guns but want to tell you why brand X is their favorite.

I like these channels because:

https://www.youtube.com/user/MrColionNoir
He is very articulate, speaks to common-sense usage issues and points of interest, and his camera/audio quality are off the charts.

https://www.youtube.com/user/TWANGnBANG
Again, same as above, but with a different personality. Not quite as well-spoken, but very easy to listen to and answers his questions in the feedback section without fail. Good guy.

https://www.youtube.com/user/SuperSetCA
I could just watch his reviews for the cinematic value alone.

https://www.youtube.com/user/VikingTactics
One of the best instructors I've had. A very serious guy who doesn't take himself too seriously. He's been there, done that, and wrote several books...

https://www.youtube.com/user/Mrgunsngear
Speaks from a real-world end user perspective, and is EXTREMELY responsive to comments/questions about his reviews. Good cinematic experience as well (slow motion/green screen/etc.)

These are a few of my favorites.

Military Arms Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZ-...AmCEP-Tu6YliUQ

He tends to keep it short & to the point, which is much appreciated after trying to watch

Nutnfancy: https://www.youtube.com/user/nutnfancy

LTC in the Air Force Reserve or NG, flew stratotankers, I feel sorry for anyone who had to sit through a briefing he may have given at work.

Hickock 45 is entertaining and pretty informative. Gunblast has shorter videos but is very experienced and has access to just about everything currently produced. There are a few other guys that seem to do a fair amount of reviews.
Reviews that I write off as wastes of time are ones with no commentary, just somebody handling it or shooting it and ones that have music blaring as background all the way through. I've also noticed some videos that do nothing but flash images of the item researched, generally a firearm or more usually a car, with background music. They have foreign sounding names and seem to have a scam going where they try to get as many views as possible, sometimes they'll have several of the same videos. You get paid so much for so many views, right?

My issue with Gunblast is that they never have EVER (to my knowledge) done a negative review. That, to me, says a lot. I don't like it.

Worst reviews? When you click on something all excitibated over it and it's some guy unboxing it, showing it to you on his kitchen table, and then that's it. No follow-up vid, no further action. Hell, you could have done that yourself at the store in many cases.

Hickok 45

Colion Noir

Yankee Marshal

CandRreviews is pretty good.

James Yeager is good.

I really only pay attention to the well-knowns and throw a few lesser-knowns in every once and awhile. Youtube reviews work best when you take them all in as a totality. Yes, you're going to waste a lot of time sitting through stuff that you've already watched, but sometimes a certain video might include a tid-bit of informative info that none of the others did.

remember that these guys are doing this to make money/gain notoriety and get free stuff given to them. Take them with a huge block of salt. Yaeger is a jerk, actually, but much of what he says IS accurate. Also excellent, altho he lets beginners do dangerously complex shooting exercises. Rob Pincher.
