My BP firearms are an integral part of my survival gear. I never got much into the living history thing with it but my Long Rifle, 1860 Colt Army, bow and arrows, tomahawk and Bowie have a high rank in my gear. I can keep myself very much alive and fed with my primitive gear. It's handy stuff to have around and be proficient with.

I'm getting back into this after about a 30 year layoff. Seems that things are a bit different now, but the skills are still the same.
