So I have some ammo I need to sell. I have about 500 rounds of various 308, some 38, 357, 380 and 22 lr. I don't think certified gun dealers would buy it and I'm not sure it's worth going to a gun show. CL and backpage seem no longer an option. There is a local magazine called iwanna. That could be my best bet, but any other ideas?

You can simply stand outside the gun show and offer the ammo for sale, or use the internet sights like Armslist or Gunbroker and say "for local pickup only". Gunbroker in particular seems to serve local markets.

Just a word of advice - I see gunbroker sell ammo all the time from what appears to be these idiots that horded ammo back when it was expensive a couple years ago, now need money, and think they can sell it at the same price they bought it. Of course they never sell it. Don't be That Guy. Ammo is cheap cheap cheap now. Price is at second hand market value, which obviously will be cheaper than retail price.

.
Correction to above - "ARMSLIST" is the one that better serves local markets.

That's not much ammo, so why not just sell it cheap to a friend, or someone at your range?

Old school want ad in the local newspaper, or in an ad type paper (Thrifty Nickel, etc.) is probably your easiest way to go.

When I moved overseas, I had to sell all my shotgun ammunition (I was a trapshooter). I put an ad in the local paper and sold it all in a day or two to another trapshooter. I also had several hundred rounds of .22 LR; I gave it to some co-workers who liked to "plink".

I'm guessing you're nowhere near Illinois? I'd very possibly buy the .380 if you were.

Not much ammo, its a nice afternoon at the range. Shoot it up. I sold a 8mm mauser and had 400 rounds of ammo. I shot down a 15 inch pine tree to get ride of it.

Thanks for all the great advise. To start I listed on armslist and gunbroker if they reactivate my account. I was tempted to shoot it up but need the extra money.
