This little gun fires 32 acp -- plenty of power. The main advantage is its concealibility. People who really needs a gun all the time would appreciate it as a backup.

Yes, it is attractive to women. Go to Gunbroker.com and search for "Seecamp". It is not expensive either - $350 can get you one. Newer ones cost higher. They're all cute.

I always go to my basic rules, if your not a gun nut and want protection, stay with the S&W 642 or its sisters. Ruger LCR works well also. Semis are more complicated many times with several safety's and things to do for it to fire. A good revolver is simple to use and with the 642 it can be fired from a purse with no snags. 38sp with +p can do one shot stops and you can find cheaper range ammo fairly easy.

I love my SIG P229 in .40 S&W. It's compact, easy to dress around, and the recoil is quite manageable. It has never once malfunctioned on me and I've put a LOT of rounds through it over the years. That said, it might not be right for you. Go with what you are comfortable with. Go to ranges that rent guns and try out what feels good in your hands.

Zombie thread, but I'll play.

My "chick gun" is a Dan Wesson 1911. Because a 230 gr .45 beats a 115 gr 9mm and if this chick has to pull the trigger I only want to have to pull it once.

And yes, I carry it.

The Bersa Thunder 380 CC has excellent reviews and runs just over $300. The Beretta Tomcat 3032 has an interesting feature that lets you tip the barrel up to load the first round so you don't have to rack the slide.
