I've been out there twice, with my son. This time I may stay in town, in a motel, to live through the inevitable thunderstorms and deluge downpours! He may not be able to go, being locked into his new job.
I shoot a C. Sharps 1974, 45-90, with a Malcolm-style optical sight (my old eyes ain't what they used to be!). I also have a modern Browning High-Wall, also in 45-90, but it tends to kick too hard; they didn't put a heavy-enough barrel on it.
Ranges are out to about 900 yards.
Anyhow, it's a lot of family fun to be sure. Hope to see some of you out there, in Forsythe, MT.

Eat some beans and beef off the camp fire, not shower for a couple days and stomp around in my leather soled boots. Rifleman, you are a peach! send me some pics would ya! I'm more into muzzleloading, but I do have a reproduction 1860 Henry and have tried handloading blackpowder .45 colt rounds with it. Do they do short range guns or just the big stuff? That sounds like fun!
