hair brushes
I've been using a Caswell Massey that I love, but I can't seem to find a similar one. Seems they only have a paddle style. Can anyone recommend a good quality natural boar bristle brush? TIA!

Magic manufacturers good quality natural boar bristle brushes (they come in soft bristle and hard bristle).
Morrocco Method has various types as well, although they are much more expensive than Magic.
Jean-Pierre is another option.

I too, like the 'paddle' style with the soft bristles. Its hard sometimes to find a good one though. Sometimes I can use a wide-tooth comb but prefer that good ol' brush. I love soft hair (who doesnt, lol!).

Brook -
Have you tried to find your brush online or only at stores? Many stores often carry only the newest products. You may surprisingly find it online or can email them to ask if they carry older models that may still be carried at particular stores that cater to niche customers.
Perhpas you can email them here:
Caswell-Massey - Fine soaps, toiletries, men's shaving, perfumes and gifts
There also are hundreds of stores that carry them if you google it. Even ebay & amazon shops. Good luck. I'm sure you'll find it. If you can get a name of the style or model #, you might narrow it down faster.... VV

Does anyone know where I can find a round brush similar to this paddle brush (first attachment)? I want a round brush with quills, not bristles. I prefer the rubber quills rather than the thinner plastic ones typically seen on a vent brush. I bought this (second attachment) brush since I couldn't find what I wanted. The bristles hurt my head and the brush is a little bulky.
I orginally bought a round brush with rubber quillls at the Body Shop that is currently falling apart. They don't have them anyone and I've searched online.

Hi Egg -
I'm not sure where you live, but have you tried Sally's Beauty Supply or other beauty supply shops in your area? Some only sell to licensed pros, but, will sell things like make-up, brushes, shampoo to non-licensed, if you ask. Each store has different inventory, but in the Boston area I've seen the brushes you like at several Sally's. Believe it or not, sometimes you can even find things like this in travel isles at drugstore chains or markets - you know the isle that has the small sample-sized containers of toiletries? Also, sometimes I've surprisingly come across nice hand mirrors, cosmetic cases, etc. at Dollar Stores. Doesn't hurt to look everywhere you go.
Good luck... VV

Thanks, Kitten. I bought the brush I mentioned in my post at Sally's. I tend to buy all my hair products there. An online friend of mine saw the first picture I posted and bought a paddle brush for me at the dollar store. I repeatedly used the adjective "round" in my post and she missed it. It was so sweet of her to think of me, but it wasn't the round brush I needed.
I have found all kinds of wooden brushes, but they're not round. If I find a round brush, it has bristles or pins and not quills. If I find a brush with rubber quills, it's a paddle brush. Sorry to be so negative, but it's frustraing knowing that some manufacturer once made exactly what I want, but it's not made anymore.
I'll keep looking. Thanks for your ideas.

If you go on amazon.com, you can find Acca Kappa. They are made in Italy, and are great. I will only use them. They used to have a store in The Venetian (in Las Vegas), too.

Egg: Google the manufacturers I mentioned, they have round brushes also that you can check out on their site. If you find the one you're looking for, they also have online ordering. Good luck
